Wow. I always say if the food is ok and service is awesome I will go back or if the food is good but service sucks I won’t go back. This is twofer. The food was amazing like always and responsibly priced. Melissa, our server was amazing! Patient with my pain in the as* requests and questions. I will go back for the food over and over and request her each time. We were full before our meals came and gonna be eating for days! Vels rocks!
Staff never fails to please. They will accommodate you willingly. Always smiling and attentive even at the busiest of times. The atmosphere is dated in decor but Vels never fails to please. It is homey w a definite neighborhood vibe and there is no pretense ever.
Great local spot with good food. The clam chowder was delicious and the fried scallops were phenomenal. I also enjoyed the crab cake dinner special. Lots of options here, and something for everyone.
Overall the place was amazing. I have to admit I may waited for 5 minutes for someone to serve me but I come in at a later time when they was cleaning everything up but man that is some of the best food for local restaurant I've had for a long time and the atmosphere was great and the servers and everybody was very very polite 5 out of 5 stars other than just waiting for a few minutes it was absolutely amazing. Just get anything on the menu. It has to be great I just picked randomly and I loved it.
Found this place by accident. What a gem. I sat at the bar and was served by several pleasant staff members who all worked as a team. There are many fine menu choices of several genres. My go to was the fried clams. They were fresh and tasty. A woman seated to my left appeared to have chicken piccata. It looked delicious. They have a full bar. As far as atmosphere it is plain, functional and child friendly. I will return here. Good food, good drink and attentive staff. A great combination.
Little family restaurant with great service, food, prices and drinks. We had a party of 7 including kids & our server was great she went above & beyond to make sure we had everything we needed also another server saw one of the kids spilled a drink and he brought over a pile of napkins, as he ran to another table because he saw us struggling with the few we had left. I'd highly recommend the kale soup, clam strips with onion rings, mac & cheese and the Greek dressing are all excellent!!!! Watermelon or regular margarita are both great.
It’s a cozy place to dine and socialize with family and good friends. The prices of the food are reasonable. And the portion is the right amount! I had their Veal Marsala with spaghetti, and it was delicious! The waiter we had was very nice! I highly recommend having a meal at Vel’s!
As been a favorite since childhood. Really authentic home cooked food always fresh and delicious! My favorite is their pizza and Veal marsala! And the prices are incredibly reasonable in this economy! 10/10 would reccomend!
